I never liked to say goodbye, not even at the end of the day. I like routine and I am a very social person who likes to be involved in the community where I live. So every transition is a challenge. Our international mobile lifestyle has forced me to approach and handle farewell's in a different way. Even when it is not likely that we will see each other again my last words will always be "Until we meet again".
I found inspiration in the book "The Little Prince" from Antoine de Saint Exupéry, more specific, the chapter in which the Little Prince tells about his encounter with a fox who asks him to tame him. When the final goodbye arrives the fox is sad to see his new friend leave. The Little Prince says that the fox was the one who wanted to become friends and that if this makes him grieve now, he didn't gain anything. But the fox answers that the Little Prince will always be special to him and that each time he sees a field of wheat it will remind him of the golden hairs of the Little Prince and the nice times spent together.
I do believe that you always leave a part of yourself with your loved ones, in return, they have a special place in your heart and you take a part of them with you, wherever you go.
"Partir c'est mourir un peu" but my heart is full of joy, grateful for every moment with family and friends and my mind is filled with wonderful memories.
"Until we meet again..."
